G-1 USN VIRGINIA Jacket

The G-1 leather jacket is perhaps the most iconic garment, it has become synonymous with naval aviators. With its distinctive fur-lined collar, the G-1 is easily distinguished from its Army/Air Force counterpart, the A-2 leather flight jacket.

During World War II, naval personnel rarely adorned their leather jackets with more than one patch on the left breast, representing their name, rating, and service. Sometimes a single squadron patch was worn on the right chest. However, customization with patches did not become widespread until after the war and became popular in combat squadrons.

This is the Domodehierro1948 customization of the G-1 jacket that we call “USN Virginia”, it has the following characteristics:

• Main Material: Full Grain Cowhide Leather.
• Collar: Removable wool collar in 100% natural lamb wool, secured with a zipper and snap connectors.
• Cuffs and waist adjustment made with reinforced knit wool.
• Reinforced main zipper.
• Lining made of satin.
• Redigitized and embroidered patches in high quality and resolution thread.
• External pockets: 2 vertical pockets with button adjustment and 2 traditional side pockets to keep your hands warm.
• Internal pockets: 2.
• Bi-swing or “double action” back that allows ease of movement.
• On the back side of the neck, it has the “windflap”, a leather strip to allow it to be closed by buttoning it.
• Slim fit fit.
